Dear Colleagues and Friends,
After many limitation and restriction due to Covid-19 outbreak in worldwide including in Indonesia, I am delighted to invite you to participate in The Third International Symposium on Tropical Forestry and Environmental Sciences (ISTFES 2023) in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia . This year event is continuation of ISTFES that conducted in Berau regency in 2019. Faculty of Forestry, University of Mulawarman is still the host of this symposium and this year we are confidence to arrange this event fully offline as we normally did prior to pandemic.
This year, we highlight special theme related to climate change issues and how is the Indonesian government as well as the provincial government responding to this issue. At the same time, we also would like to expose the strategy as well as the implementation of policies toward low carbon development agenda. In addition, we also wanted to get more insight on the success story of East Kalimantan province implementing reducing emission from deforestation and forest degradation program which have been acknowledged by International community.
This symposium will be held in 29-31 of August 2023 and is expected to be major event this year for gathering all forestry and environmental scientist, researcher, professional, bureaucrat as well as student to share and present their prestige work in this fruitful event. As chairman of the organizing committee, we welcome all of you to participate on this event and see you in Balikpapan.
