Abstract. Indonesian is known as a source of raw materials for tropical medicines that can be used to overcome various diseases. Macaranga is a genus of Euphorbiaceae family which consists of 300 species. This plant is spread throughout Indonesia with local the name "mahang" . The spread of Macaranga plants is relatively broad, in addition to Indonesian, also found in the African region, Madagascar, Asia, the east coast of Australia, and the Pacific islands. This research includes phytochemical analysis activities, antioxidant activity ( DPPH ) tests of Macaranga trichocarpa and its Fractination. The Macaranga trichocarpa leaves positively contained alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, tannins, carotenoids, and coumarin. The antioxidant of methanol extract showed a potent as antioxidant natural. The antioxidant of 39 fractions showed the highest inhibitory fraction 24. Further research is needed to find out the active compounds contained in Macaranga trichocarpa leaves which have the potential as natural antioxidants.
