Abstract

The Dipterocarpaceae are very dominant in the forests of Kalimantan which have an important role in both economic and conservation aspects. This study aims to determine the potential of dipterocarpaceae in the Sangkulirang karst region - Mangkalihat of Berau Regency and East Kutai Regency. The research was carried out for 2 months in 6 locations. Plotting method is done using purposive sampling method, with a plot size of 10 x 10 as many as 15 at each location. The results showed that there were quite a lot of Dipterocarpaceae species in the study location, i.e. 175 individu (3469 individu per hectare) with 32 species of 8 genus of Dipterocarpaceae familie in Sangkulirang karst Mangkalihat i.e. Anisopthera spp., Dipterocarpus spp., Dryobalanops spp., Hopea spp. , Parashorea spp., Upuna spp., Vatica spp., Shorea spp., Only the clan of Cotylelobium spp. not . Dipterocarpaceae potential level of trees 95 individu (105 N / Ha) with Basal Area 67.59 per hectare and stand volume 129.65 m3 per hectare. For the sapling level, there are 52 individu (253 N / Ha) and there are 28 individu for seedlings (3111 N / Ha). Horizontal Structure (Diameter 10-20, 45 Individu), (Dimensions 20-30, 16 Individu), (Dimensions 30-40, 16 Individu), (40-50 Dimensions, 5 Individu), (Dimeters 50-60, 7 Individu), (Dimeter> 60, 5 Individu). Vertical Structure (4-20, 50 meters Individu), (20-30, 35 meters Individu), (> 30 meters, 9 individu). This condition shows that the larger the diameter and height of the Dipterocarpaceae species the fewer individu.
